GRASS WITH CUTGRASS TEXTURE LS17
A texture set for cutgrass. Not for the mods folder, this must be installed “by hand”
Based on my earlier version from FS-15 this version has improved short cut grass (slightly finer detail) & fewer white flowers.
Suitable for any map if it suits you, but especially for coldborough as it closely matches the existing grass.
Locate in the maps folders the foliage folder and then the roughGrass_diffuse.dds file, backup or rename the original in case this isn’t what you expected and replace it with the same file from this zip. This will give you the close range texture for the grass and the cutgrass.
For new textures for the grass windrow and hay windrow as well as the distance textures for each you will need to replace the files in the base folder, i.e. drive:Farming Simulator 2017datafillPlanes for the two diffuse files grass_diffuse and hay_diffuse backing up or renaming the originals first, also the distance files in the drive:Farming Simulator 2017datafillPlanesdistance folder, again backup or rename the grassDistance_diffuse.dds and then hayDistance_diffuse.dds files and replace them with the two new ones.
The screenshots included show the cutgrass, grass windrow, hay windrow and distance, plus the secondary grass growth.
If the new grass is not to your liking then simply replace the files you changed with the backups you made. You did make them didn’t you?
Note: Changing files in the Farming Simulator 2017 could well impact on your ability to use the multiplayer aspect, (it may not, I have not tested it) the game will see the same filenames and file sizes so it may not cause an error for MP players, it depends on how the checksum is actually made. For single players though this will not be an issue.
Mapmakers feel free to use/adjust this as and if you wish.
